User Licenses


Single-User / Instructor License:
This is our standard lab or classroom license that allows a single instructor to install the purchased program to be used on the computer stations, laptops, desktops, etc. and/or on a server serving only the stations of this instructor.  It's like buying a class set of books that are kept by a single instructor.  Only one student can read each book at any given time, and only one teacher would check out the set at once, but each is available for all students.  This is, however, a single-instructor license.  Multiple instructors would have to get one license (disk or download) each.  Possession of the original disk (or emailed download receipt) is evidence of a license.

Site License:
A school-wide license allows one of our software titles to run from a server or from any or all computer stations for a mere $1000, regardless of student enrollment or school size.  Such a license allows unlimited use by an unlimited number of instructors and students for an unlimited period of time on a single campus.  Separate campuses in a district cannot be combined for the purpose of buying a single site license.  A site license also allows instructors to install the software on their home computers for their own use.  When a school purchases a site license for installation, a disk containing the software (and key code) will be sent to the purchasing campus (free shipping), and unlimited copies may be made of the software for school and instructor use, according to these guidelines.

This license would not extend to students installing the software on their own computers off campus.  Such a license would also not be transferable to another campus, nor is it refundable.

Commonly Asked Questions:
Do you provide tech support and how much is it per year?
We provide free, informal tech support.  What that means is that we will work with you or your tech people via emails to try to resolve any problems you may be having until it gets fixed.  Our software isn't staggeringly complicated, so there aren't too many issues that come up.  We don't charge for it  and we don't come to your campus or home.  Occasionally, we help out by phone if email isn't viable.

How long does an installation site license last?
Indefinitely.

How much are upgrades?
Upgrades are free on all titles and available as the latest downloads from the pages where they are described.  If you have purchased a title, like the SAT Word Mage, and cannot remember the download link (which has likely changed) and want to install  the software, contact us.

Can we use our site license on our district-wide server?
Yes, only if other campuses that don't have licenses aren't using the program as well.

What are the system requirements?
Anything from a Pentium II on up running Windows 95 or newer will work fine.  The hard-drive space needed is minimal and is given on each title's ad page.  It is very little more than the space needed for the downloadable setup file.

How do you sell your site licenses and individual licenses so cheaply?  What's the catch?
We don't advertise much, and we spend almost nothing on packaging.  Nearly all overhead and effort go into the production of the software itself and into nothing else--that way we make an OK profit without charging much.

Returns Policy and Warranty

If you buy from us and your Pathos Learning software is damaged or in some way defective, please e-mail us to that affect, detailing the specific problem you are having, and, if we cannot fix the software-related problem, we will happily refund your purchase price or replace the defective disk (if the software was purchased on CD-Rom).  To receive this refund due to a defective program, you must inform us of the problem via email within 30 days of purchase.
